Introduction
Inviting your team
Bring teammates into your workspace, assign roles, and understand what each role can do.
Tyms is built for teams: every teammate you invite gets their own AI assistant. Invitations and members are managed by workspace admins from Admin → Teammates inside the workspace.
Roles
Tyms has two roles:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus the workspace’s Admin area: teammates, organization context, brand, announcements, integrations, and AI providers. |
| Member | Use the workspace: chat with their assistant, work with files in Drive, and use installed apps. |
The person who creates the workspace is the owner, with all admin abilities. You can have more than one admin. Role changes apply the next time the person signs in.
Invite a teammate
- In your workspace, open Admin → Teammates.
- Enter your teammate’s email address.
- Choose their role (Admin or Member).
- Send the invitation.
The Invite teammates card on the workspace screen at start.tyms.ai is a shortcut that takes you straight to this page.
Pending invitations are listed on the same page, so you can see who hasn’t joined yet. You can resend an invitation, which starts a fresh link, or revoke one that should no longer be used. Invitations expire after 14 days.
If your plan has a seat limit, members and pending invitations both count toward it.
What your teammate sees
Your teammate receives an email invitation. When they accept it:
- They land on a "You’re invited" page with their email already filled in.
- If they’re new to Tyms, they enter their name and choose a password. If they already have a Tyms account, they simply accept.
- They’re signed in to your workspace, and their own assistant is set up for them.
Removing a teammate
Admins can remove a teammate from the same Admin → Teammates page. Removing someone takes away their access to the workspace: they can no longer sign in to it. If they were signed in at that moment, their current session ends on its own schedule.
