Introduction

Welcome to Tyms

What Tyms is, how it's organized, and where to start.

Tyms gives every person in your organization their own AI assistant. Your assistant handles the invisible work — collecting, searching, analyzing, synthesizing, monitoring, and reporting — so you and your team can focus on the work that needs human judgment.

These docs walk you through setting up Tyms, working with your assistant day to day, and administering Tyms for your organization.

What is Tyms?

Tyms is AI software that helps you run business operations across finance, sales, marketing, customer service, compliance, and more. Unlike a general-purpose chatbot, Tyms is built around your business:

  • Every teammate gets an assistant. Each person’s assistant knows who they are, what their role is, and works in their name.
  • Work products, not just answers. Your assistant produces documents, spreadsheets, decks, and dashboards, and saves them into your workspace Drive.
  • You stay in control. Your assistant asks clarifying questions when a request is ambiguous, and asks for approval before taking actions that need your consent.
  • Built for organizations. Admins manage teammates, branding, billing, apps, and oversight from one place.

How Tyms is organized

A few concepts come up throughout these docs:

  • Workspace — the shared space where your team works. It holds your files, conversations, and settings. Most teams start with one workspace, created when you sign up.
  • Assistant — your personal AI worker inside a workspace. You chat with it, send it files, and it delivers work back to you.
  • Drive — the file system of your workspace, with personal and team folders, version history, sharing, and search.
  • Admin — the management area where workspace admins configure the organization, invite teammates, and control billing, apps, and agent oversight.

Where to start

  1. Getting started — create your account and meet your assistant.
  2. Inviting your team — bring teammates in and assign roles.
  3. Workspaces — how workspaces work and when to create more than one.
  4. Plans and billing — what’s free, what’s paid, and how billing works.

Then move on to the Assistant section for daily work:

If you administer a workspace, the Admin section starts at The admin area.
