IntelligenceOverview

Data Intelligence

Connect your databases and files once, then ask questions in plain language from your assistant, with every number traced to its source.

Data Intelligence connects your databases and spreadsheets to the assistant your team uses. Anyone can ask about revenue, pipeline, churn or inventory in plain language, and get an answer, a chart or a summary. Every number comes from a real read-only query, and you can see exactly which one.

ExampleGrace, Head of sales, in Claude

How did pipeline change this month, by region?

  • Read the context notes for the deals database
  • Ran a read-only query on the deals table
  • Charted the change by region

Pipeline is up 18%, led by East Africa. Query and run time are attached.

How it works

Part What it does
Connections Your data sources: PostgreSQL or MySQL databases reachable from the internet, private PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server databases through a small connector you run beside them, and CSV files you upload.
Context Instructions, a Glossary and notes on Tables and columns, so assistants know what "active customer" or "MRR" means in your business.
Workbench A SQL editor for people who want to write queries themselves, with results as a table or chart.
Reports Documents with live query, table and chart blocks. Assistants can create them too.

You ask questions from your assistant: Claude or ChatGPT today, or coding agents with an API key. The workbench itself is for SQL, not chat. See Use Tyms from your assistant.

Read-only, always

  • The database user must be read-only. Data Intelligence checks this before it accepts a connection, and checks again every day. A connection that gains write access is suspended.
  • Only reads get through. Every statement is checked, and anything that would change data is refused.
  • Every result is capped in rows, size and time, and marked when a cap cuts it short.

Who sees what

Org admins add connections. On each connection, people have a role:

Role Can
Reader Browse and run saved queries
Analyst Run their own SQL, save queries and write notes
Admin Set the policy, manage members and disconnect

An assistant never gets more access than the person who signed it in, and never admin rights.
