Your assistant's email address
Every assistant has its own email address — send it work from your inbox.
Your assistant isn’t only reachable on the web: it has its own email address, so you can send it work straight from your inbox — forward a thread, send an attachment, or fire off a request from your phone.
Find your assistant’s address
Open Channels from your user menu. You’ll see:
- your assistant’s email address,
- when it last received a message, and
- a send a test email button to try it out.
Add the address to your contacts and your assistant is one forward away from any email you’re looking at.
How it behaves
- Your assistant answers email from you — its owner — only. Mail from anyone else isn’t acted on, so nobody can drive your assistant from the outside.
- Requests sent by email work like requests typed in the app: your assistant does the work and replies, and its output lands in Drive like everything else.
For admins
Admins manage the email channel from Channels → Email in the admin area:
- Service status — whether the email channel is up and healthy for your workspace.
- Per-user addresses — the assistant email address each teammate has.
- Forwarding — route mail so work sent to existing addresses reaches the right assistant.
- Domains — the domains your assistant addresses use.
- Customization — tailor how the channel behaves for your organization.
The safety rule above holds for every address: an assistant acts only on mail from its own owner, so publishing or forwarding to an assistant address never lets outsiders drive your team’s assistants.
